Ke Huy Quan is a Vietnamese-American actor who has made a significant impact in the world of film and entertainment. At age 7, he escaped from communist Vietnam as one of the “boat people” refugees and eventually came to the United States.

Quan's breakthrough role came in 1984 when he portrayed the endearing character of Short Round in Steven Spielberg's iconic film "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom." His performance as Indy's loyal sidekick earned him critical acclaim and endeared him to audiences worldwide. Quan's natural charm and comedic timing brought depth and authenticity to the character, making Short Round an unforgettable part of the Indiana Jones franchise.

Following his success in "Indiana Jones," Quan went on to star in other notable films, such as "The Goonies" (1985), where he played the witty and resourceful character of Data. Once again, Quan showcased his ability to captivate audiences with his youthful energy and memorable one-liners.

However, as he got older, he found it difficult to find acting gigs.  His film acting career was put on hold for decades during which he had small bits to edit films and choreograph martial arts scenes.

Quan’s rejuvenated career was inspired by the success of Asian American films such as Crazy Rich Asians in 2018.  Ultimately, he found enormous success playing the role of (three incarnations of) Waymond Wang opposite Michelle Yeoh in clinically acclaimed “Everything Everywhere All At Once”. For this role, he won a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Academy Award in 2023.
